I have several Ellington pens and they all write so smoothly. This pen is no exception. The nib and ink flow is so smooth. It glides over the page! The weight and size is nice as well. My only complaint is that the actual coloring of the pen is very different from the pictures on the website. If you are looking for that gorgeous saturated burgundy color, you will be disappointed. It is far more muted. Pictures taken with flash, in the sunlight, and in the shade.
